The partnership between Camden and One Tree Planted to plant more than 7,500 trees in celebration of Earth Day 2024 was a huge success!
We are proud to announce that our initiative resulted in planting over 8,400 trees, one for every new lease and renewal signed or started in April through One Tree Planted. That's almost 1,000 more than we planted in 2023!
Efforts like this not only contribute to repopulating forests but also help combat climate change, preserve biodiversity, support ecosystems, and make our communities a better place to live.
Kudos to everyone involved in making the world a greener, more sustainable place!
Why this partnership matters to our communities
Earth Day reminds us of the vital role trees play in our ecosystem. Planting a tree is a powerful act of environmental stewardship, providing benefits such as air purification, climate regulation, and habitat for wildlife. Each sapling planted is a step towards a greener future, symbolizing hope and growth. We are so proud we have come together in this partnership to increase the well-being of our residents, communities, and a healthier planet.
What else is Camden doing to increase sustainability?

Camden is embracing a circular environmental model. We are evaluating ways to support reuse, recycling, and regeneration of water in our properties. Nine of our communities are irrigated from ponds, seven from wells, and two from reclaimed water, which means we use less water from the city’s water supply. Applying this circular water framework provides our communities with ways to reduce operating costs and reliance on natural resources.
Additionally, we support the energy transition away from fossil fuels by installing electric vehicle charging stations in our communities. We currently have over 230 EV stations installed across our portfolio, providing charging access for 270 electric vehicles.
